Many businesses have a legal obligation to charge you Sales Tax depending on your Billing Location. For example if you live in Ontario, Canada you are charged an additional 13% on all purchases. This makes sense if you are buying physical goods from a store, however the issue comes with digital goods in the global business world. There is no longer any justification for these fees to be added and becomes a money grab from the government.
The way around this is forming an LLC in a US state such as Wyoming where there are no Sales Tax. You then switch the Billing Account of these services to the new owner, being the company, and send a message to the billing departments to update this as it is usually locked to prevent fraud.
As you can see I was paying $11.47CAD on these invoices for several years. This is expensive and adds up over time when you consider how many different software licenses, subscriptions, services, etc you may have.
Transferring my business operations from my Canadian personal entity to a US corporate entity allowed for us to no longer have to pay any sales tax.
